Since the start of the reported conflict between the United States and Israel against Iran, a total of 25 vessels have come under attack in the Persian Gulf region.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) coordination center of the Royal Navy reported that between February 28 and May 5, a total of 45 maritime incidents were recorded across the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Oman. These include 25 direct attacks, 18 suspicious activities, and 2 vessel seizures.

According to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), 31 major incidents have occurred in the region during the conflict period. The incidents have resulted in the deaths of 10 seafarers, while several others were seriously injured.

International organizations warn that maritime security in the region remains at high risk, with commercial shipping routes becoming increasingly difficult to operate under current conditions.
