Ukraine has stated that two Russian oil tankers were targeted in the waters of the port of Novorossiysk.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a post on his Telegram channel that the vessels had been actively used in oil transport operations and were part of what is described as Russia’s “shadow fleet.”
According to him, Ukrainian forces are continuing operations against Russia’s oil logistics network. “Our fighters are continuing to enforce sanctions against Russia’s shadow oil fleet. Two such vessels were struck in the approach waters of Novorossiysk port,” Zelensky noted.
No further official details regarding the incident or the extent of the damage have been released so far.
