Azerbaijan Badminton Federation will support the development of badminton in Africa.
Azerbaijan Badminton Federation is pleased to start a project to support the development of badminton in Africa together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan and the National Olympic Committee.
A meeting was held between the management team of Badminton World Federation (BWF) and Azerbaijan Badminton Federation in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the parties within the framework of the annual meeting of the Badminton World Federation.
According to the agreement signed between the President of the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation Taleh Ziyadov and the President of the Badminton World Federation Poul-Erik Høyer Larsen, ABF will support the development of badminton in Africa.
The support of the state of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation to increase the level of social life and education in developing countries with a low standard of living through sport (badminton) is one of the priority directions. The main goal of the project is to achieve the development and popularization of badminton in African countries within the framework of close cooperation with the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and Badminton Confederation of Africa.
Within the framework of the project, the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation will contribute to the development of badminton in Niger, Gambia, Cameroon, Madagascar and Botswana.
According to the agreement, the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation will supply the badminton institutions of the mentioned countries with rackets, shuttlecocks and other necessary sports equipment.
