The Naval Forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have announced that the Strait of Hormuz is closed until further notice due to an unstable security situation created by foreign interference.
According to sea-news.az that this was stated in an official announcement by the IRGC Naval Forces.
According to the statement, foreign interference and attempts by vessels to navigate through unauthorized routes in the Strait of Hormuz have led to the emergence of security concerns.
It was noted that previous warnings had been issued against foreign interference and the unauthorized establishment of shipping routes. Several hours ago, some vessels disregarded these warnings and attempted to proceed along unauthorized routes.
One of the vessels that did not change its course despite the warnings was stopped by the IRGC Naval Forces using warning fire.
The statement declared that no vessel will be permitted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz until interventions in the region are ceased.
