According to sea-news.az the pre-graduation sea training organized for the graduating classes of the 2025/2026 academic year at the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy (ASMA) has been successfully concluded. Within the framework of the training, students majoring in “Marine Navigation Engineering,” “Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Engineering,” “Electrical and Electronics Engineering,” and “Marine Power Plant Operational Engineering” had the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in real production and shipping environments.

In accordance with the relevant order of ASMA, students studying in the fields of “Marine Navigation Engineering,” “Electrical and Electronics Engineering,” and “Marine Power Plant Operational Engineering” were involved in pre-graduation sea training from February 6, 2026, to May 29, 2026. Meanwhile, students of the “Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Engineering” major underwent their pre-graduation training at production enterprises between February 16 and May 22, 2026.

The internships were conducted on various types of vessels operating within the Merchant Fleet and the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet of “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping” CJSC (ASCO), as well as on the vessels of “GN Group Corporation,” “BUE Caspian Limited,” “Caspian Marine Services B.V.,” and “Statü Gemi Kiralama ve Ticaret Limited,” at “Baku Shipyard” LLC, and other production sites.

During the training period, students familiarized themselves closely with the technologies applied in the modern maritime industry and developed their professional skills by participating in various stages of production processes.

In the final phase of the training, the students’ production activities were evaluated by the enterprises where they completed their internships, and reports on the work performed and the professional competencies gained were assessed by relevant commissions established at ASMA.

Ultimately, the pre-graduation training results of 148 students were evaluated.

High performance indicators across the majors also attracted attention. Specifically, 82 percent of students in “Marine Navigation Engineering,” 50 percent in “Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Engineering,” 92.9 percent in “Electrical and Electronics Engineering,” and 94 percent in “Marine Power Plant Operational Engineering” completed their training with grades of A, B, and C.

The achieved results have once again confirmed that the students successfully applied their theoretical knowledge in real production and shipping environments, and that their professional readiness levels have been shaped in accordance with labor market requirements. This successful completion of the pre-graduation training establishes the grounds for awarding bachelor’s degrees to the students in their respective fields of study.
