The National Olympiad in the subject of “Strength of Materials,” held among students of higher education institutions at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC), has concluded.
According to sea-news.az 7 students from ASCO’s Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy (ASMA) also tested their strength in the knowledge competition, which saw the participation of a total of 53 students from 9 leading higher education institutions across the country. The Academy’s representatives demonstrated their knowledge and skills in key branches of “Strength of Materials,” which is considered one of the core foundations of engineering:
- Tension and compression;
- Geometric characteristics of plane sections;
- Torsion of shafts with circular cross-sections.
Based on the results of the Olympiad, Ali Ilgar oglu Gadirov, an ASMA student majoring in “Marine Power Plant Operational Engineering,” demonstrated high preparation and was awarded a IV degree diploma. The other 6 students who participated in the Olympiad were presented with special certificates for their active participation.
