New Tensions in the Red Sea

The “Ansar Allah” (Houthi) movement in Yemen has announced a ban on shipping linked to Israel in the Red Sea, including vessels associated with Israeli interests.

According to sea-news.az the statement comes amid rising regional tensions and renewed concerns over the safety of maritime routes in the Red Sea.

The group also claimed it had carried out strikes on Israeli targets. Previously, the Houthis had declared that they would target vessels linked to Israel as well as maritime traffic bound for Israeli ports.

These developments indicate that risks to international shipping in the Red Sea remain elevated, and maritime security in the region is entering an increasingly sensitive phase.
