As part of an official working visit to Türkiye, on May 18, 2026, a delegation from the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy (ASMA) visited Piri Reis University (PRU).
The ASMA delegation was received by PRU Rector Prof. Dr. Nafiz Arıca and the university’s senior management. During the meeting, discussions were held on maritime education, scientific research, and opportunities for international cooperation between the two higher education institutions.
Prof. Dr. Arıca provided information on the university’s development model, its “work-oriented education” concept, and its artificial intelligence strategy, emphasizing the importance of building cooperation that delivers practical and sustainable outcomes.
Acting Rector of ASMA, Eldar Qocayev, shared information about the academy’s activities and international cooperation priorities, highlighting the importance of student and faculty exchange programs, dual degree initiatives, and joint research projects.
The meeting also included exchanges of views on educational and scientific performance indicators, international publications, and potential joint research in the maritime sector.
The visit concluded with a tour of PRU’s maritime infrastructure and a commemorative photo session.
