A ceremonial event marking the departure of the new cargo vessel Gadamly on its maiden voyage was held at the Balkan Shipbuilding and Repair Yard with the participation of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow. The news was reported on Friday by the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan.
The vessel, which was built and launched at the end of last year, began its first voyage across the Caspian Sea after completing outfitting and sea trials. Its first destination is the Port of Baku in the Republic of Azerbaijan 🇦🇿.
The Gadamly dry cargo vessel meets international standards and is capable of carrying up to 6,100 tons of cargo. The ship is equipped with modern navigation systems and high-tech equipment. Its crew consists of 14 qualified specialists.
The vessel’s maiden voyage marks another step in implementing the country’s state strategy for developing the national merchant fleet. In recent years, Turkmenistan’s fleet has been expanded with new tankers, ferries, and other modern vessels.
