Footage capturing the exact moment of the UAV attack on the cargo vessel “Royad Mammadov,” which was carrying grain from Ukraine to Italy in the Black Sea, has been released.
Sea-news.az presents the video footage.
It should be recalled that as a result of the attack, the vessel’s captain, Rustam Hasanov, was killed, while cook Mahammad Suleymanzade remains missing.
The ship’s crew comprised 13 members in total (11 Azerbaijani nationals and 2 Indian nationals). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan issued a statement confirming active coordination with diplomatic missions and competent authorities of relevant states:
“Necessary measures are being taken to provide our citizens with required medical and consular assistance, as well as to carry out appropriate procedures for repatriating the bodies of our deceased citizens.”
It is worth noting that in 2022, the vessel was named in honor of Royad Mammadov, a martyr of the 44-day Patriotic War.
