Spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, has claimed that the Iranian armed forces forced US Navy vessels to retreat approximately 1,000 kilometers away from the country’s coast.

Sea-news.az citing Press TV, that Fadavi stated in a television interview that US warships had withdrawn more than 1,000 kilometers from Iran’s borders.

“The Americans fled and retreated more than 1,000 kilometers from our borders. This was not their personal choice, but a result of the power of the Islamic Republic and the IRGC ground forces,” he declared.

Fadavi further claimed that there are currently no US warships present in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Oman, or even the northern waters of the Indian Ocean.

The IRGC spokesman also asserted that US warships remain “100 percent defenseless” against potential missile attacks that could be launched by the IRGC.

It should be noted that Fadavi’s statement comes amid an ongoing naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports by the US Navy. Last week, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that, since July, 125 commercial vessels attempting to enter or exit Iranian ports had been intercepted to enforce blockade compliance.
