A special headquarters has been established to gather information and ensure an operational response to the destructive Typhoon “Ducuan” approaching Japan.

Sea-news.az reports that this was announced by the press service of the Japanese government.

According to the report, the epicenter of the typhoon is located south of the central part of Honshu Island’s Pacific coast. It is moving in a north-easterly direction at a speed of approximately 25 km/h.

According to forecasts, the typhoon will approach the Izu Peninsula in the second half of Monday, and subsequently the Tokyo area.

Forecasters are warning of heavy torrential rains, overflowing rivers, and the threat of landslides, advising residents to stay off the streets. Evacuation recommendations for residents to safe areas are already in effect in some districts of Chiba Prefecture.

The typhoon is accompanied by strong winds, sudden gusts, and heavy downpours. Over the past two days, precipitation exceeding 410 mm has been recorded in some areas. Forecasters predict rainfall intensity of approximately 80 mm per hour.

According to the latest information, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s scheduled flight for her visit to the US may also be postponed due to Typhoon “Ducuan”.
