The Fitzroy River, located in Australia’s Queensland state, has been confirmed as the venue for rowing events at the 2032 Summer Olympic Games in Brisbane.

Sea-news.az reports that despite concerns regarding the presence of crocodiles and strong currents in the river, the Fitzroy has successfully passed technical evaluations.

Queensland Premier David Crisafulli stated that the river’s suitability for hosting Olympic competitions has been confirmed and approved as a venue by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Accordingly, the Fitzroy River will host rowing, para-rowing, canoe/kayak sprint, and paracanoe competitions.

It should be noted that the 2032 Summer Olympic Games will be held in Brisbane from July 23 to August 8.
