China’s “Gravity-1 Y3” carrier rocket successfully delivered 9 satellites into their planned orbits during a launch conducted from the sea near Shanghai.

Sea-news.az reports that during the launch, carried out at 06:00 Beijing time (02:00 Baku time), new records were set in terms of payload weight and orbital altitude.

The rocket launched a new batch of the “Qianfan” satellite constellation, as well as several test satellites. This marked the fourth flight of the “Gravity-1” rocket.

Developed by the Chinese private aerospace company “OrienSpace”, “Gravity-1” is a solid-propellant carrier rocket capable of carrying a payload of up to 6.5 tons.

This is the second launch of the rocket carried out from the open sea. During the first sea launch held in July, the “Gravity-1 Y4” rocket successfully placed 9 satellites into orbit.

According to experts, the latest mission tested the rocket’s operational capability in complex conditions such as high temperature, high humidity, and salty sea air, demonstrating its reliability.

According to reports, the mission is also evaluated as the world’s first experiment in launching stacked satellites via a solid-propellant rocket to meet the networking requirements of large-scale satellite constellations.
