The capital of Slovakia, Bratislava, is set to host the prestigious international “Olympic Hopes” canoe and kayak tournament from September 15 to 20.
Sea-news.az reports that the Azerbaijan Water Sports Federation will be represented at the tournament by a dedicated squad of six young athletes.
The national team roster features Mustafa Velizade, Elmir Tarverdiyev, and Ivan Vorozhanskiy competing in kayak events, while Huseyn Samadli, Fakhri Sadigli, and Vagif Mustafazade will test their skills in canoe disciplines.
The Azerbaijani delegation will be led by senior coach Bogdan Kurudz alongside team manager Elvin Heydarov.
Sports officials emphasize that the international tournament provides a vital platform for young canoeists and kayakers to gain invaluable competitive experience, measure their progress against international peers, and showcase their athletic potential on the global stage.
