The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Victorious Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have visited the Naval Forces.
Sea-news.az reports that Minister of Defense, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, delivered a report to President and Victorious Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.
The head of state and the First Lady laid floral tributes at the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev in front of the Naval Forces headquarters, paying their respects to the memory of the Great Leader.
President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were briefed on the purpose and tactical-technical characteristics of the SALVO armed unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and KAYRA kamikaze unmanned surface vehicles, which are produced using advanced technological innovations at the joint production facility of “MIRAS Military-Industrial Company” LLC and “DEARSAN Ship Building Industry” Inc., operating under the Ministry of Defense.
Following the briefing, the head of state and the First Lady familiarized themselves with the work carried out at the production facility.
The domestically produced unmanned marine vessels were then put through practical testing on-site.
Concluding the visit, an operational meeting chaired by President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev was held to discuss matters regarding military development and construction.
