Police in Japan have rescued a 56-year-old woman who went missing after being swept away by a water current while hiking along a mountain stream.
Sea-news.az reports that the woman, a resident of Yokohama, went missing on August 9 during a hike along the Naramata River in the town of Minakami. She was trekking along the route accompanied by three men. During the hike, her foot slipped, she fell into the water, and the current carried her away. Eight days later, in the morning, a fisherman spotted the woman sitting on a forest path approximately 3.3 kilometers northeast of the Naramata Dam. Police officers who arrived at the scene provided her with initial medical assistance.
The woman sustained serious injuries, including a fracture to the heel bone of her right foot. It was revealed that despite her injuries, she managed to get out of the water and survived in the forest for over a week thanks to the food supplies she had brought on the hike. Her condition is currently assessed as stable, and she remains under medical supervision. Police are continuing to investigate the details of the incident.
