A sailor from Russia has won the grand prize of 1 million dollars in the popular “Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire” lottery held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Sea-news.az reports that the winning sailor’s success began with a strange dream he had 7 years ago. In his dream, he saw himself winning a large sum of money in a lottery held in Dubai. The next day, he searched the internet, found the official “Dubai Duty Free” lottery, and began purchasing tickets regularly.
After 7 years of consecutive attempts, while he was in Vladivostok on August 12, the sailor received a call from Dubai informing him of his win. At first, he and his family considered the call to be an attempted scam.
The winning sailor plans to allocate the majority of his 1 million dollar prize toward the education expenses of his 3 children and donate a portion to charity. The lucky winner is also thinking of buying real estate in Dubai with a portion of the money to ensure a comfortable life for his children while they are studying.
