According to U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright, the volume of oil transported through the Strait of Hormuz amounts to 8–9 million barrels per day.

Previously, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing satellite data, that an average of 26 ships passed through the strait per day in July, which is five times lower than before the conflict. However, on Tuesday, only 14 ships passed through the strait. According to Wright, this information is not accurate.
