A drop in water levels on the Rhine River due to drought in Europe has caused problems in supplying fuel via waterways to gas stations in eastern France.
Sea-news.az reports citing the newspaper Le Figaro, that the drought has caused water levels in the Rhine River to drop, making it difficult for ships to reach the port of Strasbourg.
This situation has led to fuel shortages at a number of gas stations in eastern France.
It is noted that as of August 14, 14 percent of the gas stations in the region experienced difficulties with the supply of at least one type of fuel.
In some areas, this figure reaches 50 percent. Such a situation is particularly observed in the Upper Rhine and Belfort areas.
