A dangerous, out-of-control unmanned boat off the coast of the Hopa district of Artvin province, located in northeastern Turkey, was neutralized by naval special forces.
Sea-news.az reports that naval special forces, swiftly deployed to the relevant sector of the Black Sea, targeted and destroyed the unmanned boat.
According to the governor’s office, the decision to destroy the boat was made because the vessel, loaded with explosives, approached the coastline dangerously close. To prevent the out-of-control boat from colliding with fuel tanks located in the Hopa port and causing a major disaster, a 600-meter-long protective net was swiftly installed along the shore.
As a result of the incident, no damage was caused to port infrastructure or civilian facilities.
