Two oil tankers have been subjected to a drone attack near the marine terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).
Sea-news.az reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, that on July 30, the tanker “Nissos Sifnos,” which had completed oil loading at the SPM-3 (Single Point Mooring) facility, was attacked. Due to the arising danger, the oil loading process at the terminal was immediately suspended.
At the same time, the tanker “Marathi,” scheduled for loading, was also struck by a drone approximately 6-7 nautical miles away from the marine terminal.
According to the information, the resulting fire was promptly extinguished using three tugboats belonging to the CPC. No injuries among the ship crews and no oil spills into the sea were reported as a result of the incident.
