Every year on July 30, the International Day of Friendship is celebrated worldwide.
Sea-news.az reports that this calendar date was established in 2011 by resolution 65/275 of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
The main purpose of establishing this date is to bring people, cultures, and countries closer together in a modern world facing poverty, violence, wars, and other global threats. The UN emphasizes that friendship, mutual understanding, and solidarity play an important role in ensuring international peace and social stability, and in successfully overcoming existing challenges.
