New steps on the Trans-Caspian route

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have discussed the expansion of cooperation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).

According to sea-news.az that Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev shared this on his “X” social media account.

Stating that he held a meeting with Kazakhstan’s Minister of Transport Nurlan Sauranbayev, Chairman of the Management Board of “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC Nurlan Jakupov, and Chairman of the Management Board of “Kazakhstan Railways” JSC Zhalgas Otynshiyev, the minister noted that the meeting discussed the expansion of cooperation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), investment opportunities in ferry vessels, increasing cargo transportation by road, as well as the project for laying an underwater fiber-optic cable line along the bottom of the Caspian Sea.

The parties also exchanged views on the draft agreement regarding the development of the Middle Corridor and the work being done towards the digitalization of the route.
