During the first week of Andy Burnham being the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, approximately one thousand illegal migrants entered the country via the English Channel.
According to sea-news.az citing the GB News channel, that the UK Home Office released information about this.
According to the ministry’s data, 366 people illegally crossing the English Channel reached Britain on July 23. Of them, 165 were packed into a single boat. Also, at least 200 people crossed into the country the previous day.
In total, more than 13,500 illegal migrants have arrived in the UK via the Channel since the beginning of 2026.
It should be noted that on July 20, Andy Burnham became the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He replaced Keir Starmer, who resigned from this post.
