“HD Hyundai” and “Kiewit Offshore Services” (KOS), a Texas-based subsidiary of “Kiewit Corporation,” have signed a strategic partnership agreement aimed at increasing shipbuilding capacity in the US and strengthening the country’s maritime industrial base.
According to sea-news.az citing Seanews.az, that the agreement brings together one of the world’s largest shipbuilding companies and one of North America’s leading engineering, construction, and manufacturing groups.
According to the companies, cooperation will be carried out within the framework of shipbuilding programs implemented in the US under the partnership. This includes the production of ship blocks and modules. In addition, the parties will explore cooperation opportunities in other areas of mutual strategic interest.
“HD Hyundai” will bring its expertise in ship design, advanced manufacturing technologies, procurement processes, and shipbuilding to the project. Meanwhile, “Kiewit Offshore Services” will contribute its capabilities in large-scale manufacturing, construction, and execution of complex projects through its production facilities located particularly along the US Gulf Coast.
The companies stated that the main goal of the partnership is to contribute to the expansion of domestic shipbuilding potential in the US by combining advanced manufacturing methods and proven production experience.
