During operations carried out in the Seferihisar and Menderes districts of Izmir, Türkiye, 89 illegal migrants have been detained.
According to sea-news.az that the Coast Guard Command has released information regarding the matter.
According to the report, 61 illegal migrants, including children, were detained in an operation conducted by Coast Guard and Gendarmerie personnel in the Seferihisar district. During the operation, two suspects were also apprehended on charges of migrant smuggling.
In the Menderes district, Coast Guard personnel intercepted a boat, and 28 illegal migrants on board were brought ashore.
Following investigations by the Gendarmerie, the illegal migrants were handed over to the Provincial Migration Management Directorate.
