A meeting was held between the expert team of the World Bank and the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), one of the companies under “AZCON Holding.”

According to sea-news.az citing ASCO, that during the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding vessel services, maritime logistics capabilities, and technical support issues that may be required within the framework of the implementation of wind energy projects planned for the Caspian Sea.

During the discussions, the potential of ASCO specialized fleet, the types of vessels that could be utilized in the construction, installation, and operation processes of offshore wind energy facilities, as well as logistics solutions for various stages of the projects, were reviewed.

It was noted that the development of modern maritime transport and logistics infrastructure is of great importance for the efficient use of renewable energy potential in the Caspian Sea. In this regard, the organization of specialized vessel services can make a significant contribution to the timely and efficient implementation of energy projects.

Other areas of mutual interest regarding cooperation were also discussed at the meeting. Arepresentative of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy also participated in the meeting.

Following the meeting, the World Banks expert team visited ASCO “Witness to Three Centuries” museum. The guests were provided with information about exhibits and documents reflecting the history of Azerbaijani maritime navigation, the development stages of Caspian shipping, and the rich heritage of the sector.
