The United States Armed Forces have struck the Belma, an oil tanker sailing under the flag of Curaçao, which was moving toward Kharg Island, Iran, in the waters of the Persian Gulf.
According to sea-news.az that this information was released by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM).
“U.S. forces ensured the implementation of the maritime blockade against Iran and disabled an empty oil tanker that attempted to transit to an Iranian port in the Persian Gulf on July 15,” the statement said.
CENTCOM added that the vessel did not respond to repeated warnings.
Following this, an aircraft belonging to the U.S. Air Force struck the ship’s smokestack with Hellfire missiles, thereby restricting its ability to maneuver.
