On July 14, at approximately 15:15 local time, the Atlas Bey, a civilian merchant vessel owned by the Turkish company Okean Maritime, was struck by a drone attack near the coast of Odesa, Ukraine.
According to sea-news.az citing the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that 11 of the crew members on board the ship are citizens of Azerbaijan. According to the information, all crew members except for the ship’s captain, who is an Azerbaijani citizen, have been evacuated to the shore in Odesa. Their condition is assessed as satisfactory. Measures are currently being taken to locate the ship’s captain.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine is in constant contact with the relevant authorities and is taking appropriate measures to provide necessary consular support to the Azerbaijani citizens.
