President Ilham Aliyevs latest visit to Shusha has once again demonstrated that the revitalization of Karabakh is one of the highest priorities of state policy. This visit became another clear example of the unity between the people and the government, not only through the implementation of new projects and official opening ceremonies but also through the President’s sincere meetings with the residents of Shusha and his keen interest in their concerns.
According to sea-news.az that Shusha is no longer just the cultural and historical capital, but also the primary symbol of modern Azerbaijan’s will to build. Since the liberation of the city, large-scale restoration and reconstruction works have been carried out rapidly. Modern transport and logistics infrastructure is being established, historical monuments are being restored, and new residential neighborhoods, schools, hospitals, and other social facilities are being put into operation in stages.
The fact that the head of state shares in the joy of the residents returning to Shusha and listens to their ideas and suggestions shows that the well-being of the people remains at the center of state policy.
The “Great Return” program is not limited to the construction of residential buildings. The main goal is to fully ensure a safe, comfortable, and prosperous life for people on their native lands.
The new infrastructure projects, landscaping measures, and the construction of social and cultural facilities being carried out in the city serve to transform Shusha into a significant center of attraction not only as the cultural heart of the country but also in terms of tourism and economic development.
The large-scale construction work being carried out in the liberated territories is occasionally misrepresented by certain circles. Sometimes, the scale and essence of the work are overshadowed by focusing on isolated technical or organizational issues to portray the overall process as a failure. However, such approaches do not reflect the comprehensive picture of the restoration process underway in the region.
The real facts and concrete results are evident: within a short period, brand-new roads have been laid in areas that were destroyed for many years, modern cities and villages have been built, energy, water, and communication infrastructure have been rebuilt from scratch according to the highest modern standards, and the phased and safe return of people to their native lands is being successfully managed.
Today, Shusha is one of the strategic cities that is the focus of attention not only for Azerbaijan but for the entire Turkic and Islamic world. The international events and high-level meetings held here demonstrate the city’s growing prestige, and every visit at the highest level provides a new impetus to this development process.
