On August 8, a traditional mass open water swimming race, jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation, and the Baku City Circuit Operations Company, will take place. This spectacular sporting event will be held in the city of Mingachevir, spanning across the Kura River.
According to sea-news.az that the race, being held for the 5th time, is open to any individual over the age of 12 from all cities and regions of the country, provided they possess swimming skills and are in good health. To ensure broad participation, the races will be organized according to the following age categories:
- 12–17 years
- 18–23 years
- 24–35 years
- 36–55 years
- 56–70 years
- 70+ years
Participation in the competition is completely free of charge. However, in accordance with safety and organizational regulations, the number of participants is limited. Once the pre-set total number of participants is reached, the registration process will be closed immediately. For this reason, it is essential for those wishing to participate to register in advance.
