July 3rd is International Plastic Bag Free Day, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the grave environmental risks posed by single-use plastic bags. Every year, millions of these bags end up in our seas and oceans, causing direct harm to marine life and posing significant ecological risks to the safety and sustainability of maritime transport.
According to sea-news.az citing ASCO (Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company), the protection of the marine environment is an inseparable part of their core operations. In pursuit of a cleaner and safer marine ecosystem, the company regularly implements various projects to mitigate these risks.
To ensure cleaner waters for future generations and to protect our blue planet, we urge everyone to stop using plastic bags and join the collective effort to safeguard our seas.
