Kazakhstan must build a strong aviation fuel infrastructure and become one of the region’s leading transport and logistics hubs. This was stated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a joint session of the country’s parliament.
According to sea-news.az citing the Kazakh President’s office, the head of state noted that as a leading oil and gas producer in the region, Kazakhstan is committed to developing its aviation fuel supply infrastructure.
The President also recalled his recent visit to Brussels, where he discussed the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) with European Union leaders.
According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, freight volume along the Middle Corridor has increased fivefold over the last six years, exceeding 4 million tons per year. This growth was made possible primarily by improvements in maritime transport and port infrastructure.
The head of state emphasized that the parliament’s legislative support has given a strong boost to the industry. Since 2023, eight laws aimed at the comprehensive development of the industry have been adopted, and several international agreements have been ratified.
“I am confident that by taking consistent steps, Kazakhstan will establish itself as a reliable energy donor and become one of the leading transport and logistics hubs in the region,” the President stated.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the government must give exceptional attention to this sector. He added that the country faces another urgent task: large-scale construction.
The President highlighted the importance of rapidly building railways, highways, airports, train stations, large water treatment and supply facilities, manufacturing and industrial plants, urban buildings, and other infrastructure projects.
