The Pentagon has spent approximately 40 billion dollars on military operations against Iran.

According to sea-news.az this was reported with reference to an upcoming study by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

According to the information, CSIS Senior Adviser Mark Cancian told CNN that this amount includes the cost of ammunition, destroyed equipment, and damage inflicted on US bases. However, operational costs are not included in this calculation, and those expenses are reported to have already been incorporated into the fiscal year 2026 budget.

It is noted that while the US Department of Defense shouldered the bulk of the expenses, the conflict also cost the Departments of Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs approximately 1 billion dollars.

Furthermore, data presented to the Senate Armed Services Committee indicates that combat expenditures totaled 29 billion dollars overall. This figure includes repairs, equipment upgrades, and general operational expenses.

At the same time, it is noted that gasoline prices in the US surged during the conflict period. According to analysts, oil supplies from the Middle East were halted for about four months, creating a shortage of 1.15 billion barrels of oil on the global market during this period. Meanwhile, annual inflation in the US reportedly surpassed 4% for the first time in three years.
