On June 22, an online ceremony for the presentation of the “Dostluq” oil tanker as a gift took place with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

According to sea-news.az the “Dostluq” oil tanker, presented as a gift from Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, was built at the Baku Shipyard. The total length of the tanker is 141 meters, its width is 16.9 meters, and its draft is 4.54 meters. The construction of the tanker, which has a deadweight of 7,875 tons, in Azerbaijan not only demonstrates the development of the country’s shipbuilding industry but also contributes to the advancement of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. At the same time, this once again showcases that the execution of large-scale and technologically complex shipbuilding projects is entirely feasible at the Baku Shipyard.

To date, projects for the construction of 14 vessels and the repair of more than 170 vessels have been successfully executed at this shipyard. Currently, out of the 17 vessels included in the shipyard’s order book, the construction of 11 is underway, while 6 vessels are in the design phase.
