According to sea-news.az citing Fox News and a senior U.S. administration official, Iran may have agreed not to charge transit fees for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz as part of a potential agreement to de-escalate tensions with the United States.

If implemented, the deal would reopen the strategically important strait to international shipping without any transit charges during passage.

It is also reported that, in the event of an agreement, the United States could ease or lift certain blockades. Additionally, demining operations in the area are being considered to improve maritime safety in the Strait of Hormuz.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump had previously stated that a deal between Washington and Tehran could be signed in the coming days, adding that the strait would be open to all commercial shipping after the agreement.

However, it is emphasized that these reports have not yet been officially confirmed, and negotiations are still ongoing.
