According to sea-news.az an Azerbaijani sailor who survived the drone attack in the Sea of Azov on the night of June 5 described the incident to Baku TV.
He said the attack took place during a crew change on board, when the first strikes were carried out:
“The 3rd captain was Mammad Aliyev. While the shift was changing, two drone strikes were carried out. No matter how much we tried to help, we couldn’t manage it. It was the strongest strike in the last six years. The ship was targeted by Moscow. We could not save them in any way. The deceased were left there,” he said.
It should be noted that during the night of June 5, cargo vessels “Natra” and “Zirkon,” carrying a total of 25 Azerbaijani citizens, were hit by drone attacks in the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of Azov. Five people were killed in the incident.
Investigations are ongoing.
