The U.S. Armed Forces Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) has announced that it conducted an operation in the Indian Ocean involving the interception and inspection of the tanker “Davina”.
According to sea-news.az the information was shared on the command’s “X” (Twitter) account.
The statement says the operation took place during nighttime hours. The U.S. side noted that the vessel “Davina”, which was subjected to inspection, was under sanctions and was operating without a flag.
The command added that the objective of the operation was to prevent illegal activities within international maritime operations, expose networks evading sanctions, and disrupt structures providing material support to such activities.
U.S. officials stated that such operations will continue in the future, and that international maritime security remains a priority.
