New Logistics Bridge Between Azerbaijan and China

Azerbaijan has launched efforts to establish a direct data exchange mechanism with China as part of initiatives aimed at digitalizing international freight transportation and accelerating logistics processes.

According to sea-news.az citing Report, Ehtiram Guliyev, project manager of the Digital Logistics Platform (DLP), made the announcement during the 2nd Caspian International Transport, Transit, and Logistics Forum held in Baku.

He stated that discussions with China on this initiative are currently ongoing. At the same time, a roadmap for digital data exchange with Kazakhstan has been prepared and submitted to the counterpart authorities. Within the North–South Transport Corridor, cooperation with Russia has already begun based on the electronic consignment note system (e-CMR), implemented under an intergovernmental agreement.

Guliyev also noted that similar cooperation mechanisms have already been established with Türkiye and Kazakhstan. However, Georgia remains the only key country along the Middle Corridor that has not yet joined the digital integration process, although its participation is expected in the near future.

According to him, these steps will contribute to the creation of a unified digital logistics infrastructure along the Middle Corridor, ensuring faster and more transparent data exchange among participating countries. This, in turn, is expected to significantly improve the speed, efficiency, and transparency of cargo transportation.
