At least 11 people have died after a whaling boat struck rocks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
According to preliminary reports, 47 people were rescued from the vessel, while several others remain missing. Search and rescue teams were deployed to the area immediately after the accident, and efforts to locate the missing persons are ongoing.
The cause of the incident is currently under investigation. Local authorities have warned that the death toll may rise as rescue operations continue.
