U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a statement on the “Truth Social” platform regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, following reported progress in a peace agreement with Iran.
He said that the alleged “naval blockade” in the region is being lifted, allowing vessels whose movements had been restricted to resume their routes.
According to Trump, Iran must also complete the removal or neutralization of remaining mines. He added that ships “can return home,” indicating that normal maritime traffic is expected to resume soon.
In his statement, the U.S. president claimed that the situation in the region would be fully normalized in the near future.
