The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has stated that risks for shipping in the Strait of Hormuz remain high.
According to the report, amid a U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports, additional security requirements have been imposed on commercial vessels operating in the region. Neutral ships are reportedly required to maintain a minimum distance of 30 nautical miles from U.S. Navy vessels and respond to radio communications.
UKMTO also warned about ship-to-ship operations, noting that vessels not complying with blockade-related rules may face targeting risks.
The advisory further highlights the possibility of mine threats and interference with satellite navigation systems, emphasizing elevated maritime security concerns in the area.
