May 18 marks the anniversary of the commissioning of the Heydar Aliyev 6th-generation semi-submersible drilling rig.
Equipped with modern and innovative technologies, the rig plays a key role in the implementation of strategic energy projects in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. With its deep-water operational capability and advanced technical specifications, it is considered one of the most advanced drilling units in the region.
Currently engaged in drilling operations at the Shah Deniz field, the rig continues to operate as one of the key pillars of SOCAR’s sustainable and modern energy infrastructure.
