The United States Navy has reportedly detained 44 commercial vessels that departed from or were heading toward Iranian ports since the start of the naval blockade.
“Thus far, 44 commercial ships have been ordered to turn back or return to port,” the statement said.
Previously, CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper stated that since the beginning of the blockade, the U.S. Navy has seized 41 tankers carrying a total of 69 million barrels of oil.
According to him, “the Iranian regime is currently unable to monetize 69 million barrels of oil transported on 41 tankers. This represents more than $6 billion in blocked revenue.”
The admiral emphasized that the blockade is effective and that U.S. forces remain firmly committed to ensuring its full enforcement.
