Alternative to Hormuz risk: Pakistan activates overland routes

44

Pakistan has launched six overland corridors to facilitate cargo transport for Iran, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz.

This was announced by Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce.

More than 3,000 containers destined for Iran have been accumulated at the port of Karachi, and their transportation process has already begun.

At the same time, the Pakistani government has designated the port of Gwadar—located on the Arabian Sea coast, approximately 70 km from the Iranian border—as a future key transit and logistics hub for Iranian cargo shipments.
