The vessel named “Celsius Georgetown” has departed on its maiden voyage from the dock of China Merchants Heavy Industry in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, heading to Singapore.
The project is regarded as a significant breakthrough in China’s high-end clean energy shipbuilding sector.
With a length of 298.8 meters and a width of 48 meters, the “Georgetown” is equipped with a dual-fuel, low-speed propulsion system. The vessel features low boil-off rates and high environmental performance.
These characteristics make it a notable project both technically and environmentally. At the same time, it is considered the largest-capacity LNG carrier ever built in China.
