The secretary general of the International Association of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, or Middle Corridor) has changed, a source familiar with the matter told Report.
According to the source, the position of the TITR secretary general is currently held by Nurgul Zhakupova.
“The secretary general is elected for a term of three years and each time the candidacy is approved by the TITR Board of Directors. It is expected that new elections for the position of secretary general will be held in May this year,” said the source.
It is highly likely that an Azerbaijani representative will be appointed to this position, according to the source.
The headquarters of the organization will always be located in Astana, as this is provided for in the charter and agreements reached.
Currently, former general secretary of the organization, Gaidar Abdikerimov, works as a senior certified expert in the field of transport, logistics and international transport corridors.
The TITR International Association was established in 2017 with its headquarters in Astana. The association was created to coordinate the interaction of all participants in the transportation of goods along TITR.
