The Delegation of the National Development and Reform Commission Visits the Port of Baku

Today, the Delegation from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China, led by Mr. Liang Linchong, Deputy Director of the Regional Opening Department, visited the Port of Baku.The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss emerging business opportunities along the Middle Corridor within the international trade network. NDRC officials emphasized the Port of Baku’s leading role in the development and resilience of the Middle Corridor, rooted in historical ties to the ancient Silk Road, and its significant contribution to the One Belt and One Road initiative.

This discussion held particular significance, taking into account the Port of Baku’s vital role as a key transit hub connecting Asia and Europe. Emphasis was placed on the initiatives undertaken by the Port of Baku, which involve the implementation of green business practices and digital solutions, with the aim of transforming the Middle Corridor into a resilient and sustainable trade artery (Green Corridor).Furthermore, the delegation emphasized Azerbaijan’s strategic geographic location, economic prosperity, and the readiness of its port infrastructure for enhanced partnerships with Chinese companies in logistics and port operations.
