Europe secretly buying half of Russian LNG exports

Despite anti-Russian sanctions, EU countries imported €6.1 billion worth of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2023 – more than half of all exports from the Russian Federation, Report informs referring to The Telegraph.

The number of LNG cargoes to Europe continues to grow, including to the Baltic states and other countries. The largest importers are Spain and Belgium.

Their purchases increased by 50% and account for 26.5% and 37.2% of total LNG imports, respectively.
